Customers walk through the doors of Tim’s Kitchen in Broussard looking for Southern comfort food and leave with a taste of something deeper: the Sharlow family’s history and heritage.
Most of the dishes on Timothy Sharlow’s menu trace back to his mother, Ruby Sharlow, who owned Ruby’s Restaurant. When Tim’s Kitchen opened in 2018 at 1000 Albertson Parkway, Timothy Sharlow wanted to create a menu focused on the homestyle food he grew up eating.
“Tim’s Kitchen is an extension of Ruby’s Restaurant,” he said. “This is where we come from. This is our heritage.”
He still makes his roux by hand and prepares seasonings in-house, continuing traditions passed down by his mother…
