WISCONSIN — A recent Environment America study looking at how safe rivers and lakes are for swimming found there’s still work to be done to improve water quality across the state.
In its study, the organization sampled 345 river and lake sites across Wisconsin, finding that 64% of those had unsafe levels of fecal contamination at least once, including some of the highest concentrations in the Milwaukee area.
