Ozzy’s Market closing September 19

Ozzy’s Market (1933 Washington)—the bodega-inspired café, sandwich shop, and grab-and-go corner market that opened last November—is closing later this week, according to an announcement on social media. The last day of business will be this Saturday, September 19, from 8 a.m.–3 p.m.

In the social media post, the owners cited “a myriad of factors outside of our control” for the closure, while emphasizing that they still believe in the Downtown West neighborhood and its future. They thanked customers, especially the regulars who made the market part of their daily routines, and expressed hope that the space eventually becomes home to another business. The Tudor-style building at the corner of Wash Ave and North 20th Street was most recently a barbecue joint, Bootleggin’ Bob’s.
