Members of the Freeport Fire Department received EMS Life Saving Awards during a Sept. 8 City Council meeting after helping revive a cardiac arrest patient who later recovered.
The recognition was presented by Fire Chief Tom Korte, according to a community announcement. The awards honored firefighters and officers who responded Aug. 18 to a report of an unresponsive person at an address on Winter Drive.
Responding personnel included Lt. Chris Lowery, Firefighter/Paramedics Brandon Jacobs, Alex Gravenstein and Nate Stepp. Lt. Ernie Stabenow, serving as acting district chief during the incident, also was recognized for assisting the patient’s family and supporting the crew…
