SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — A Springfield man has been charged after police responded to an alleged assault in which the victim said he was kicked around 30 times on Tuesday, Sept. 15.
Joseph Doyle Jr., born in 1992, has been charged with first-degree assault with serious physical injury in Greene County Circuit Court, according to online court dockets.
According to a probable cause statement, police responded to the 500 block of W. Chestnut Expressway in Springfield in response to an assault. Officers said they found the victim with a swollen forehead, an abrasion and blood on his left ear, swelling to the back of his head, a swollen left eye and bruising to his ribs.
The victim pointed to Doyle and told officers that Doyle had assaulted him. He told an officer that Doyle had assaulted him numerous times throughout the night, pushing him down and kicking and stomping on his head and ribs.
