Dick’s Auto Group buys historic Hubbard Chevrolet

PORTLAND Ore. (KPTV) – Dick’s Auto Group has acquired Hubbard Chevrolet, expanding its regional footprint to five dealership locations representing eight automotive brands across Oregon, the company announced Tuesday.

The acquisition keeps the 90-year-old dealership under family ownership. Founded in 1936 by Willis Berkey, Hubbard Chevrolet operated for three generations at 3080 J St. in Hubbard before former owner Lance Berkey decided to sell.

“The time had come to pass the baton onto a new owner after many years in business, and we were looking for some very specific values of the proposed buyer,” Berkey said, noting he sought a buyer with local ties and a family-run structure. “From the moment I met Scott Inukai & Kirk Dunn, I felt we couldn’t have found a more perfect candidate to carry on Hubbard Chevrolet’s legacy.”…
