Reno holds rescheduled America 250 Courthouse Salute

RENO, Nev. (KOLO) — The City of Reno held a ceremony Wednesday honoring America’s 250th birthday at the Washoe County Historic Courthouse, 75 Court Street, beginning at 8 a.m.

The America 250 Courthouse Salute was originally scheduled for Aug. 12 but was postponed due to the Hog Fire.

What happened at the event

The ceremony was led by Mayor Hillary Schieve and opened with an Honor Guard presentation from the Reno Police and Fire departments. The program included a Moment of Honor featuring the Pledge of Allegiance, led by Liberty Dogs CEO Major General Ondra L. Berry, and a performance of the National Anthem by City employee Cassie Harris.
