Dozens of Health Code Violations Found At Providence School Cafeterias in Recent Months
Multiple Providence public school cafeterias were found to have rodent droppings – and, in one instance, “cocoon-like objects” found under a dishwasher – in violation of state health code, according to the most recent inspections by the Rhode Island Department of Health (RIDOH) reviewed by GoLocal.
Over the past six months, RIDOH inspection reports found that some schools had a litany of health violations, including Central High School – where, during the most recent site visit, inspectors found the “presence of rodents is not controlled as evidenced by rodent droppings” and that “cocoon-like objects were observed on floor under dish machine.”
According to inspectors, “Staff cleaned [the] area during inspection,” and it was “corrected on-site.”…
