Former Louisiana Dept. of Education employee, one other sentenced on wire fraud charges

BATON ROUGE, La. (Louisiana First) — Two Louisiana men were sentenced after both were found guilty of conspiracy to commit wire fraud.

According to the Louisiana Department of Justice, Romney Manuel, 52, of Prairieville, and Demietriek Scott, 50, of New Orleans, were sentenced to federal prison after their convictions. Manuel was sentenced to 15 months, while Scott was sentenced to 29 months.

After their sentences, Manuel was ordered to serve two years of supervised release and Scott to serve three years. Each was ordered to pay $74,250 in restitution…
