Oklahoma Co. detention center replacing menu after corn is used to make alcohol

OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) – The Oklahoma County Detention Center is altering its inmate menu, replacing corn with green beans after officials discovered inmates were using corn to make homemade alcohol.

The menu change follows a contraband sweep conducted by detention center officials. During the sweep, staff found that inmates were combining corn, water and Kool-Aid packets to ferment alcohol inside the facility.
