ASHEVILLE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) – A Gastonia man was sentenced to more than four years in prison Thursday for selling fentanyl and firearms.
According to the U.S. Attorney for the Western District of North Carolina. 35-year-old Matthew Olando Allen was sentenced to 51 months following a 2024 investigation that involved selling fentanyl-laced pills to a confidential informant working with law enforcement.
In April of that year, Shelby Police Department officers reporeted stopping Allen’s vehicle for a traffic violation. During a search of the vehicle, law enforcement recovered from Allen a Canik 9mm pistol. Inside the vehicle, law enforcement found a Ruger SR22 firearm and more fentanyl pills.
