Excessive rainfall causing flooding across 21Country

(WPTA) – Heavy rainfall has led to flooding and dangerous travel conditions Thursday morning in multiple communities across northeast Indiana and northwest Ohio.

Rainfall began after midnight Thursday morning; showers and storms have since been training across the region, bringing several inches of rain to some areas in less than 12 hours. Several roads are closed or impassable, especially in Adams and Wells Counties, resulting in multiple water rescues and reports of stranded vehicles. You should avoid travelling if possible in these areas.

The heaviest rainfall has fallen across a swath covering Wabash, Huntington, Wells, and Adams Counties. Rainfall amounts greater than or equal to 3 inches were recorded in each of these counties…
