The Essex County Prosecutor’s Office has dropped aggravated assault, stalking and other charges against a police officer who was accused of attacking a woman who rebuffed his advances.
Florham Park Patrol Officer Gregory Dietz, 34, was arrested earlier this summer after a woman told police he stalked her and tried to strangle her in her apartment.
A spokesperson for the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office said the charges were dropped on Wednesday “due to insufficient evidence.”…
