FDOT traffic advisory for SW 66th Street bridge/I-75

Motorists are advised that northbound Interstate 75 will briefly narrow to one lane nightly approaching the Southwest 66th Street bridge beginning Sept. 21 for bridge demolition. This will occur between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. each night through Thursday and will resume the following Sunday night if the work has not been completed.

During nighttime demolition work, northbound traffic will merge from three lanes to one lane, which will gradually veer away from the work zone at the bridge before returning to three lanes. The speed limit on northbound I-75 will be reduced to 60 mph approaching the bridge, and concrete dividers will guide motorists through the work zone, according to the Florida Department of Transportation press release.

Signage will be in place alerting motorists about the northbound closure and law enforcement will be present in the construction zone to monitor traffic. All lanes of I-75 will be open during the daytime. Southbound traffic will be unaffected during this phase of the demolition…
