The Barrington Town Council voted 4-0 on Monday, Sept. 14, to direct the town to work with the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee on the location, final design and logistics for up to two projects under the committee’s public art initiative, according to the council’s published meeting recording.
The vote came near the end of a meeting that ran past 10:30 p.m., after roughly a half-hour of debate in which residents argued over whether rainbow crosswalks and benches on town property amount to a message the town is endorsing on behalf of everyone…
