A tentative trial date was set Thursday for 21-year-old Desmond Carter, one of the suspects accused of raping LSU sophomore Madison Brooks in 2023 just before her death.
Carter is now scheduled to face a jury on Dec. 7 on charges of first- and third-degree rape. One of his co-defendants, Casen Carver, 22, has a bench trial scheduled for Nov. 30 on the same charges. Both trials will be before Judge Gail Horne Ray.
The third defendant in the case, 22-year-old Kaivon Washington, also faces charges of first- and third-degree rape. His trial date has not been set…
