Amarillo ISD hosts ‘Education Impact: A Future Teacher Conference’ event Thursday

AMARILLO, Texas (KAMR/KCIT) – Amarillo Independent School District hosted its “Education Impact: A Future Teacher Conference” on Thursday morning, aimed at nurturing the district’s “Grow Your Own” pipeline by connecting high school Teaching and Training students directly with district professionals.

According to Amarillo ISD, the conference connected students with district leaders, veteran teachers, and coaches and launches them into a year-long practicum, where they will complete more than 100 hands-on hours in classrooms while learning alongside master educators and mentoring younger students.

“By establishing early professional connections and showcasing local career pathways, the conference inspires these future educators to earn their degrees and return to teach and coach in the community that raised them,” said Amarillo ISD representatives…
