St. Louis mayor signs new data center regulations into law

ST. LOUIS – St. Louis Mayor Cara Spencer signed a bill Thursday imposing new regulations on data centers in the city in an attempt to get ahead of the boom.

City leaders said data centers may bring major investment but they also bring big questions about power, water, and noise in neighborhoods.

“We stand at a moment in history where the world and technology are moving incredibly fast,” Spencer said during Thursday’s news conference. “Together, we have shown St. Louis is more than capable of doing hard work to position our city for the future by collaborating to lead with smart, responsible, pragmatic and community-center growth.”…
