Woman found dead in suitcase outside Wichita fire station

WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) — A 67-year-old woman was found dead inside a suitcase outside a fire station in south Wichita on Wednesday evening, police say.

According to Wichita police, fire personnel requested an urgent police response at 6:25 p.m. after two people arrived at Wichita Fire Station 22, near Hydraulic and Pawnee avenues, with a suitcase that they said had a body inside.

Officers found a woman inside the suitcase, who was pronounced dead at the scene, WPD said. Her body was later taken to the Sedgwick County Medical Examiner’s Office.

“The two individuals who brought the suitcase to the fire station are being interviewed by investigators,” WPD said in a news release. “Detectives are working to determine how the woman and the individuals being interviewed are connected to one another.”…
