SAN TAN VALLEY, AZ (AZFamily) — Crews and property owners spent hours pumping millions of gallons of water Thursday after powerful storms dumped more than 2 inches of rain across San Tan Valley, leaving local horse arenas submerged and animals stranded in mud.
At Major’s Brigade, 2-inch trash pumps roared through the night as owner Joshua Hill worked to pump runoff out of the north pasture, across the street, and into an adjacent ditch.
“We were out here pretty much all night last night till 11 trying to get horses moved, animals moved,” Hill said. “Clean up as much as we can. Then it started raining again and it was a lost cause at that point.”…
