LAS VEGAS (FOX5) — The Nevada Supreme Court has dismissed appeals filed by the Nevada Rural Preservation Alliance in its case against the City of Las Vegas over the approval of a new Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints temple near Lone Mountain.
The order, filed Sept. 14, consolidated two appeals: one from a district court order dismissing a petition for judicial review, and another from a post-judgment order awarding attorney fees.
According to the order, the Nevada Supreme Court granted a motion from the alliance’s counsel to withdraw from the case on July 24. The court suspended briefing at that time and directed the alliance to retain new counsel within 14 days.
