Greenville-Spartanburg International Airport will close its runway at 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 18, for a 60-hour rehabilitation period. The runway is scheduled to reopen at 8 a.m. Monday, Sept. 21, and the passenger terminal will be closed to the public during the shutdown.
No passenger or cargo flights will operate during the closure, according to the airport. GSP plans to use the period without passengers to complete terminal maintenance that is difficult to carry out while the building is busy.
Rental-car operations will continue during the weekend. The companies operate from the new Garage C, where their service will not be interrupted by the runway shutdown; other regional airports and GSP’s general-aviation partner airports will also operate normally…
