Clay County detectives are asking for the public’s help identifying a driver who struck a 20-year-old riding a minibike and fled the scene in Middleburg.
The hit-and-run occurred Sept. 13 between 3:30 and 3:40 p.m. at the intersection of J. Mark Lane and Nolan Road. The victim was riding a minibike when a suspect vehicle — described as a red sedan, possibly a Toyota Camry — struck him as he attempted to pass.
After the collision, the suspect got out of the car and asked the victim if he was faking his injuries. When the victim responded, the suspect returned to the vehicle and fled southbound on Nolan Road toward County Road 218…
