A driver in a BMW suspected of fleeing the scene after fatally striking a man in a wheelchair was caught by police in Long Beach early Friday morning.
The hit-and-run crash was reported shortly after 12:30 a.m. near East 7th Street and Pacific Coast Highway, a Long Beach Police Department spokesperson confirmed to KTLA.
Arriving officers found the victim in the street suffering from severe traumatic injuries to his upper body and began rendering aid.
