CONWAY, S.C. (WPDE) — Rising diesel prices are forcing farmers to rethink how they work their fields, and one Horry County grower says the added costs are already changing day-to-day decisions on the farm.
Jimmy Hammond, who runs Lynn’s Strawberries in Conway, said diesel prices have jumped by more than $2 a gallon since March, driving up the cost of operating the tractors and equipment needed to plant, maintain and harvest crops.
