In the backyard of his rainbow-painted house on San Francisco’s Clipper Street, Sam Geffner built a sanctuary.
Gently curving stone steps lead up to a meditation room tucked into the hillside that slopes up behind the Noe Valley home he shares with his wife, Mar Rodin. The room’s twin skylights let in soft beams of light and its sliding glass doors look out onto a rocky grotto where koi fish swim.
