CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) – Virginia joined a CDC wastewater surveillance program in 2020 to track COVID-19 outbreaks. Six years later, the testing is being used to find other viruses.
What started as a response to the COVID-19 pandemic has become a permanent health tool in Charlottesville and across 30 sites statewide.
