RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — 8News got a visit from three special guests on Friday, including one with four legs, about a Richmond SPCA program that lets you give back while getting fit.
8News anchors Delaney Hall and Madison Moore spoke with Dori McGuire, director of communications at Richmond SPCA, and Leanne Battle, a volunteer running buddy who has participated in the program for nine years, to talk about the organization’s Running Buddies program. They also brought Tori, a 6-year-old resident at the Richmond SPCA.
“A group of us has a list of assigned dogs who need a little extra exercise, who need a little more socialization, so we go through our list, and we got out as many dogs as we can in the time that we have,” Battle said. “So we have three slots of two hours each, each week.”…
