On Thursday, Sept. 17, 2026, at approximately 6:30 p.m., the Mississippi Highway Patrol responded to a fatal crash on Interstate 55 in Lincoln County.
A 2019 Toyota RAV4 driven by 33-year-old Jordan Rushing, of Brookhaven, traveled south on Interstate 55 when it collided with a 2022 Freightliner occupied by 36-year-old Nigel Johnson of Rayne, LA, that was parked on the shoulder on Interstate 55.
