SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Three schools in the Nixa School District were placed under “secure mode” Friday morning due to an unrelated police presence in the area, according to a district spokesperson.
The district spokesperson told Ozarks First that the Nixa Police Department was investigating a crash where the passengers fled before officers arrived. Police confirmed there was no threat to the public, and the school district is no longer under “secure mode.”
