A Springfield man sustained moderate injuries early Thursday morning when the car he was driving struck the towed unit of a truck involved in an earlier crash on Interstate 29 in Holt County, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred at 1:44 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 17, on southbound Interstate 29 at mile marker 80.6, about three miles south of Mound City.
The Highway Patrol reported a 40-year-old Springfield man was driving a 2014 Chevrolet Impala southbound in the driving lane. A 2025 Freightliner had been involved in an earlier crash and had come to rest off the east side of Interstate 29 in the grass median…
