GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — Those looking to take part in activities across West Michigan Saturday should double check their itineraries as many events around the region are being cancelled, moved or postponed due to heavy rain.
Several rounds of occasionally heavy are likely to hit West Michigan Saturday stretching from early morning through evening. Many communities south of I-96 are expected to remain under a flood watch through Sunday morning.

With heavy rain and possible flash flooding, many event organizers have cancelled or changed plans, including ArtPrize and the city of Grand Rapids. Here’s a roundup of some of the changes to events around West Michigan:
- Eastown Streetfair 2026 on Wealthy Street — start delayed to 2 p.m.
- Ceremony reopening Ball Perkins Park on Plymouth Avenue NE in Grand Rapids — canceled
- OperaGR’s free ArtPrize performance — moved indoors to DeVos Place’s Grand Gallery from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
- The city of Portage’s Fall Fest — canceled Saturday
- Can Am Peace Jam in Kalamazoo — relocated to Kalamazoo City Centre at 125 S. Kalamazoo Mall from 1 p.m. to 11 p.m.
- Second Annual Sickle Cell Walk & Roll — relocated to the UM Health-West Conference Center from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
- Grand Haven Hispanic Fiesta — canceled
- Gryphon Place Suicide Prevention Walk – canceled
- New Era Fall Street Festival — canceled
