Four town of Elon railroad crossings will be closed starting at 7 a.m. on Sept. 21, according to the town of Elon. York Road, Oak Avenue, Williamson Avenue and Church Street will be closed to pedestrian and vehicle traffic. The crossings will remain closed for at least two or three days.
The tracks will remain active during construction. The town of Elon website recommends pedestrians use the underpass tunnel located at East Lebanon Avenue and East Trollinger Avenue. Drivers are advised to follow signs for detour routes…
