The Bayonne City Council approved measures postponing the sale of key city-owned land at the former Military Ocean Terminal (MOTBY), establishing a health education and community outreach agreement with the Hudson Regional Health Commission, this week.
On the resolution authorizing an amended redevelopment, purchase, and sale agreement between the city and Centre Street Redeveloper LLC for property at 40th Street and Chosin Few Way, residents asked the council to consider a proposal to construct a protected walkway on the site.
The idea was for the council to require the developer to construct a public transportation walkway along the wild wetlands on the site- thereby creating green space in the community in the process.
In response, Council President Melissa Godesky-Rodriguez had Business Administrator Andrew Casais explain the resolution, to which he described it as postponing the closing of the purchase and sale agreement for city-owned property at Harbor Station North and Centre Street Redeveloper LLC – an affiliate of the Kushner Real Estate (KRE) Group…
