Metro Transit announces pilot program for single-car MetroLink trains

ST. LOUIS, Mo. (First Alert 4) – Metro Transit announced Friday it plans to launch a pilot program for single-car MetroLink trains to see if it will help save money.

The pilot, which is set to start October 3, will roll out in phases on both the red and blue lines. Officials say they are taking a very deliberate approach during the pilot program to make the best long-term decision.

“We want to be as transparent about this as possible. And we want to have as much feedback to inform our decision as we can get. You know, this isn’t all about right-sizing train size.
