SUFFOLK, Va. (WAVY) — A driver is in critical condition after a crash on Shoulders Hill Road in Suffolk Saturday morning, according to the Suffolk Department of Fire & Rescue.
At around 1:23 a.m. on Sept. 19, Suffolk Fire and Suffolk Police responded to the 5000 block of Shoulders Hill Road for a single-vehicle crash. When Engine 5, Ladder 5 and Battalion 2 arrived to the scene, they saw fire coming from the engine compartment and the driver pinned inside the vehicle.
As Engine 5 extinguished the fire, Ladder 5 and Rescue 2 rescued the driver, who was then transported to a trauma center in critical condition.
Shoulders Hill Road reopened at 3:42 a.m…
