A man survived a moose attack while hiking in the mountains around Boulder.
According to reporting from the South County Star, a couple had traveled to Colorado to visit their son who lives in Louisville, a town just outside Boulder and hike the mountains surrounding the area. The group had set out on a hike in preparation for a longer 10-mile hike they had planned.
After reaching the summit of their hike, they started to head down when they encountered a baby moose about a half-mile into their descent. The area had a waterfall blocking other noises and a switchback with a narrow side drop. The mother moose then appeared.
