ALA-Sierra Vista beat The Gregory School 2-0 (25-14, 25-17) to win the championship of the Small(er) School Tournament hosted by the Hawks on Friday and Saturday. The Guardians compete in the 2A Southeast Region in the first year of AIA competition for the program. The team is 4-0 in ranking matches.
The Hawks compete in the 1A South Region with a 7-2 record and the program will host St. Augustine (2-5) on Thursday, Sept. 25 and the Guardians will visit Willcox (3-4) on Monday. Andrada Polytechnic beat Amphitheater in the other bracket and Desert Christian beat Valley Union to take third place.
