PORTAGE, Mich. — A home grown metal fabricator is celebrating 75 years in business Sunday.

Unifab Corporation, a Portage based metal fabricator established Sept. 20, 1951, is celebrating 75 years of business Sunday, according to company officials.
The company used to go by Kalamazoo Coaches from 1940 to 1951 and created small, 16 to 18 seat busses called Pony Cruisers. When demand for Pony Cruisers declined, they became Unifab, focusing on metal fabrication including work with aluminum, stainless steel, and mild steel cut and designed for individual applications in automotive, material handling and other industrial markets.
“Reaching 75 years is an accomplishment that belongs to everyone who has been part of Unifab’s story,” Unifab President Matt Hill said. “Our capabilities and the industries we serve have changed considerably over the years, but our focus on quality, service, and being a dependable partner for our customers has remained consistent.”…
