ROCKFORD, Ill. (WTVO) — An inmate at the Winnebago County jail has died following a medical emergency early Sunday morning.
In a Facebook post by the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Department, just after 2 a.m., an inmate activated an emergency call button to alert officers that his cellmate was experiencing a seizure. Officers began life-saving procedures on the inmate before he was transferred to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
An investigation of the circumstances of the inmate’s death is ongoing, and no other details have been released…
