Comedian Scott Thompson, known by his stage name Carrot Top, was hospitalized in Las Vegas on Sept. 18 after a suicide attempt, Rolling Stone reported, citing TMZ. His representative did not confirm the cause of the hospitalization.
The 61-year-old’s Friday and Saturday performances at the Luxor Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas were canceled as a result, E! News reported. Thompson has hosted a nightly comedy show at the Luxor since 2005.

Thompson’s representative, Jami Schlicher, said in a Sept. 19 statement to Entertainment Weekly, as carried by E! News, that Thompson is recovering in the hospital and receiving the care and support he needs.
