Hundreds of runners gathered in anticipation around the MBTA’s Boston College station on Friday. Some chatted among themselves, while others stretched. They watched people trickle inside the Green Line cars, doors close, bells ringing. Then, as the train starts moving, so did the runners.
They were kicking off the Charlie Card Challenge, an unofficial 6-mile race from Boston College to Park Street.
The goal? Beat the T.
