COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) — A driver and two students were able to escape injury after a bus crash occurred Monday morning in an area southeast of Columbus.
According to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, the crash occurred on Chatterton Road, near the intersection of Fleet Road, where the bus driver lost control of the vehicle and struck a utility pole. An image provided by the sheriff’s office shows the bus veered into the back yard of a home, ran over a fence and hit the pole, breaking it off from the base.
A representative from the Groveport Madison district said the bus was taking the students to Bryce Christian School, a few blocks east of the crash, the in Blacklick Estates area. The bus driver and students aboard were not harmed, while the bus itself came to rest with the utility pole leaning on the right side of it.
“We are grateful to report that neither student nor the bus driver was injured. While the accident scene may have appeared more serious than it actually was, everyone involved is safe,” a spokesperson said…
