Jennifer Eckhart, a former associate producer at Fox News, has died at the age of 36 at her home in Hobe Sound, Florida. Her passing was confirmed by a spokesperson from the Martin County Medical Examiner’s Office. While local authorities have indicated that her death appears to be a suicide, the official cause and manner of death have not yet been publicly released.
Eckhart came into the public eye in 2020 when she filed a lawsuit accusing former Fox News anchor Ed Henry of rape. Henry denied the allegations, insisting their relationship was consensual.
Following an internal investigation, Fox News terminated Henry’s employment in July 2020. Eckhart also brought claims against the network, asserting it failed to protect her and properly address Henry’s conduct, but those claims were dismissed by a federal judge in 2025 and later upheld by the U.S.
Court of Appeals in 2026.
In June 2025, Eckhart and Henry reached a confidential settlement just before the case was set to go to trial, ending the legal dispute without a jury verdict. Throughout the years after leaving Fox News, Eckhart remained vocal about her experience, helping bring attention to issues of workplace sexual misconduct.
Authorities reported a notable police presence at Eckhart’s residence on Saturday morning when she was found deceased.
