Three historically Black colleges in North Carolina posted enrollment gains far surpassing the University of North Carolina system average this fall. Winston-Salem State University saw a 5% increase. North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University grew 3%. North Carolina Central University led all system schools with 9% growth.
The UNC system saw enrollment increase a little over 1% from last fall. The three HBCUs outpaced that rate.
