‘So much family history tied to it’: Evansville business owner repairs broken flagpoles

EVANSVILLE, Ind. (WFIE) – A Tri-State business owner has launched a new service to repair broken flagpoles across Evansville after noticing several standing empty around the city.

Jeff Bassemier, owner of Bassemier’s Fireplace & Patio, started the new branch of his business, called “Flag Rescue,” after two years of considering the idea.

“We’ve launched a new branch to our business. We call it Flag Rescue, and we’re basically going around and replacing and repairing old flagpoles, the ropes on them, if they need new pulleys and paint jobs, or if you need a whole new flagpole from scratch,” Bassemier said…
