During their meeting Monday, Williamston Town Council held first reading on an off-road vehicle-parking ordinance for Mineral Spring Park.
Mayor Rocky Burgess said driving into the grassy areas to get to shelters is causing problems, particularly power pedestals used for the Christmas Park, being damaged. In addition to the cost and time it takes to repair damage, there is a safety issue. He said he plans to have signs placed in the park to notify visitors of the new ordinance.
