A lawyer for the man charged with capital murder in Kei’mani Latigue’s death last year said in court Monday morning that he plans to seek a postponement of the trial scheduled for next month.
David Klucas said the motion he expects to file by midday Tuesday will explain the rationale for delaying the Oct. 19 trial of Darnell Jones, 35, who is accused of raping and killing his daughter Kei’mani, 13, whose body was found March 24, 2025, in an abandoned East Toledo house.
Whether Lucas County Common Pleas Judge Michael Goulding will grant the postponement would then be discussed during a pretrial conference scheduled for Wednesday afternoon…
