Milwaukee’s Common Council is expected to vote Tuesday on whether to give alderpersons and the mayor 8% raises. The proposal is drawing some pushback from residents and at least one former city official who say the money is needed elsewhere.
If passed, alderpersons would earn more than $90,941 a year starting in 2028 — nearly $18,000 more than they made in 2023. The mayor’s salary would also increase to $182,991.
