JEFFERSON PARISH, La. (WGNO) — A Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office employee was fired after being arrested for allegedly operating a vehicle while impaired Monday, Sept. 21.
According to the JPSO, 51-year-old Aaron Verrette of Metairie, a 14-year veteran of JPSO, was arrested in the incident. JPSO officials said deputies responded to a report of a man sleeping behind the wheel of a car in the 1700 block of Veterans Memorial Boulevard around 9:20 a.m. Verrette allegedly drove away initially but was stopped nearby.
